HTC to Unveil Vive VR Tech Breakthrough at CES

With numerous companies working hard to perfect their own virtual reality headsets, it’s probably safe to assume that CES 2016 is going to focus on these particular technologies. Even though its smartphone division is not exactly the most successful right now, HTC has every chance to enjoy success in the virtual reality segment thanks to its Vive VR headset. The headset was originally expected to be released by the end of 2015, but HTC has decided to postpone the launch until April 2016. Apparently, the reason for this date change is related to a very important technological breakthrough that was reported by HTC CEO Cher Wang and her team.

Instead of waiting to implement the new technology as an update in the future, the team behind Vive VR wants to include it in the first release, but this will require some extra time. Details regarding the tech breakthrough have not surfaced yet, but it’s likely that we’ll find out more at the upcoming CES event, which is scheduled to kick off on January 6, 2016 in Las Vegas. Are you looking forward to virtual reality headsets, and if so, would you consider giving the HTC Vive VR a chance once it comes out next year?
