HTC Vive Gets Post-Brexit Price Hike

The effects of the UK’s recent EU membership referendum are still reverberating throughout the tech world, thanks to the consequential collapse of Pound Sterling, which has hit its lowest price against the US Dollar in 30 years. Asus has already announced a 9% increase in its UK prices as a result of the post-referendum fallout, while Dell and OnePlus are putting up their prices by 10%, and now HTC has revealed that it is hiking the price of its Vive VR headset up by £70.

In a blog post, the HTC Vive team wrote:

A message to our UK customers:

HTC continuously monitors and adjusts pricing to ensure we are providing our customers with the best value possible.  Due to recent currency valuation changes and the current value of the GBP we are adjusting the price of the HTC Vive in the UK to £759 + P&P.  The adjustment will come into effect on Monday 1st August.

We are committed to providing the best possible VR experience with Vive and would like to thank our UK customers and partners for their continued support.

Thank you,

The Vive Team

As a result, the HTC Vive will go from £689 to £759, which will come into effect tomorrow. If you were considering investing in a Vive, you might want to buy it before midnight tonight.
