Eager to enjoy the legendary ‘Yet (not) Another Maps Pack’ mod from previous Civ games on Civ VI? Then you’ll be glad to hear that the famous mod has entered alpha and you can download and try it out now.
The mod can be played in Giant or Ludicrous, but the creator of the mod has warned users that they’ll want a decent rig to do so. Both of the settings go “way above the size of the Huge map” warned the mod creator, and that the map may simply refuse to load on PCs that aren’t up to the task, with Ludicrous maps taking five minutes to load, even on a decent system!
The creator of the mod says that the Ludicrous mode may require you to lower graphical settings, as it used up 6GB of VRAM, which isn’t a problem for something like the GTX 1080, but could be for a lot of people. The mod creator was running an i7 4770K, 16GB RAM, and a GTX 980 ti, if you’re under that, don’t expect Ludicrous mode to offer you much hope of working.
You can download the mod on the Civ Forums here.
