Humble Store Launches Ubisoft Sale Event

Humble Store

At least once a month, the Humble Store offers PC games big discounts on titles while also allowing us all to do our bit for charity. You see, for every purchase made, a little slice goes to fund a lot of good causes.

The latest offering from them is the Ubisoft sale, offering big discounts on some major titles. If the Steam Sale hasn’t currently ruined your bank accounts, let’s see if we can tempt you.

Ubisoft Sale

Now, before I carry on, I must add the caveat that Ubisoft doesn’t have the best reputation for PC releases. Despite this, there are some excellent games on offer here which are well worth checking out.

We will take a few of our picks of some of the games worth buying or best avoided.

Worth Buying

Firstly, let’s look at some of the more positive picks.

STAR TREK: BRIDGE CREW

This excellent VR game is a must-have for all Trekkies. At just £15.99 there is a lot of fun to be had here. Some slight caveats though, the player base isn’t massive, so you can often be waiting for a game and Ubisoft have been ridiculously slow in announcing any DLC. At this point, it’s doubtful any will be made. Cross-platform support with PS: VR, however, means that playing and enjoying it is still more than possible.

STEEP

At the full price, I’m sorry, but Steep isn’t worth it. It’s not that it’s a bad game, it just lacks the depth you really would have wanted. With 50% off, however, its definitely worth checking out.

ASSASSINS CREED ORIGINS

This is probably one of the better Assassins Creed releases in some time. The game itself is still reasonably new and with a 33% discount if you were considering having a look, nows your chance.

Not Worth Buying

Now, we look at those we couldn’t recommend.

FOR HONOR

Some pretty big discounts reducing the base game to £16.49 does not whitewash the major problems this game has. Between a pay-to-win mechanic and current host-based servers, this game should’ve been a lot better than it turned out. Which is a pity because it isn’t bad.

SOUTH PARK: THE FRACTURED BUT WHOLE

Completely failed to replicate the success of the original. Prior to release the developers said that they were worried that the game wasn’t offensive enough, they might have been right. I played this for about 3-4 hours and gave up. It’s not that it’s bad, but for £24.99 you’re still paying for something you’ve pretty much already seen.

ROCKSTAR 2014

Only worth buying if you already have the USB to guitar jack adaptor. Without this, the game is worthless. If you do have it, its fun and you can learn a bit about playing guitar, but for myself, the tracks are a bit boring.

WATCHDOGS 2

Many enjoyed this, but I didn’t. An improvement on the original, but that’s not saying much and for £15.29 this still isn’t worth it.

TRIALS FUSIONS

This game isn’t for everyone, but it is fun. For less than £5 you will get a lot of pleasure from this.

Humble Store Sales!

There are, of course, many other games, but in truth, there’s very little from this franchise I could recommend. If I was to go through all the games I knew in the sale, it would be about 70% avoid.
