The next generation HyperX Cloud Alpha gaming headset is finally available. According to the company, it is the first gaming headset to have dual-chamber 50mm driver design. This allows the Cloud Alpha to produce clearer sounds with better distinction, whether gaming or music listening.
HyperX Cloud Alpha Features
The HyperX Cloud Alpha is a circumaural closed back headphone and has a frequency response range of 13Hz–27,000Hz with 65 ohm impedance. The detachable microphone is an electret condenser with a frequency response range of 50Hz-18,000Hz with -43dBV (0dB=1V/Pa,1kHz) sensitivity.
The new Cloud Alpha features the same familiar comfort as previous Cloud gaming headsets. However, it also features detachable cables and microphones for better portability. The cable has braiding with inline controls and is removable for transport. The noise-cancellation microphone also detaches so users can use it like a regular headset. For extra portability, it also comes with a travel bag.
The hinge uses aluminium material for lighter weight and durability. Meanwhile, the earcups use leatherette material, which is more hygienic than cloth. Overall it only weighs 336g with the cable and microphone.
Pricing and Availability
So far, HyperX only offers it in their standard black with red accents. It comes with an MSRP of £89.99 through several online retailers.
