A Closer Look

Included with the HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Wireless + 7.1 Gaming Headset are a USB charging cable and USB wireless dongle. The USB cable is pretty straightforward and can be used to charge the headset. Of course, you can use any other USB-C cable you have laying around too.

The dongle is plug and play ready, so just put it in the computer, it’ll pair up with the headset, and you’re ready to rock.

It’s pretty small too, so you shouldn’t have many issues putting it in the back or front of your PC.

The headset looks broadly similar to previous models from HyperX, albeit, it is part of a range of Cloud headsets, so that’s hardly surprising. What’s different is that this is the top model, so it’s both the larger and more premium design, but also wireless. There’s a large adjustable boom microphone on the left side too, which auto-mutes when folded up and reactivates when folded down.

Aside from the easily adjustable boom microphone, you’ll also find a durable metal inner headband on the headset. It’s got a great range of adjustment, so it’ll fit gamers of any age easily enough.

On the bottom of the left ear cup, you’ll find the USB-C charging port. Pretty self explanatory really.

Further up the ear cup, you’ll find both the master volume wheel and the power button. There’s also a small LED indicator light to tell you when the device is on or battery is low.

The ear cups are a closed-back design, so they’ll lock the sound it fairly well. Plus, there’s a pivot design on the mount allowing for some vertical adjustment. However, they’re fixed horizontally and do not fold inward/outwards.

While the ear-cups are closed-back, the foam padding is coated with a softer fabric. That means they won’t completely lock sound in/out, but it is more breathable and comfortable than leather would be; especially on warmer days!

Up on the top, you’ll find a simple HyperX logo stamped into the plastic, nothing too flashy, but it does look cool.
