HyperX FURY 16GB 3200 MHz DDR4 RGB Memory Review

How Much Does It Cost?

The HyperX Fury 2 x 8GB 3200 MHz RGB DDR4 Memory Kit is available right now from many major retailers. It should be priced around £99 here in the UK and $100 in the US. However, the stock is a little thin on the ground due to COVID-19 lockdown stuff. However, you can check Amazon stock in the UK here and in the US here. Regardless, it’s a very competitively priced kit, and I’d expect it to be on par or slightly cheaper than similarly equipped rivals.

Overview

The memory market doesn’t move at a particularly fast pace, there’s a new format every few years, such as DDR3 moving to DDR4, and we’ve had DDR 4 for so long now that it’s as dialled in as it’s ever going to get. That means you can get fantastic kits like the HyperX FURY 3200 MHz DDR4 RGB for a very reasonable price that hit that high-performance mark really easily.

Speed

While you can buy faster kits in this series, I honestly can’t see the need for them at this price range. For a great gaming PC build, this is about as perfect a kit as you could as for. Affordable, stylish, good all-round performance right out of the box, and it supports AMD and Intel. Beyond the 3200 MHz, you’ll be spending more money, but the performance returns will be pretty small.

Overclocking

3600 MHz was easily attainable on this kit, but with some compromise. It didn’t like me tightening the timings, so it was a simple MHz boost and that was it. This did increase the latency a little, but it also improved performance a little. If you can get better performance, awesome, but honestly, I think at this price range, it’s not really in the “overclocking” market and stock performance was already decent.

Should I Buy Them?

HyperX has many years experience in the memory and gaming markets and it shows. The Fury is right one the money in terms of performance, style and features. It offers up all the RGB you’ll need, cool optical sync technology, and wide platform support, making it a great choice for any new gaming PC build or upgrade.
