HyperX Introduces Alloy Elite and FPS Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboards

The two latest mechanical keyboards from HyperX shown at Computex 2017 are now available: the HyperX Alloy Elite and the HyperX Alloy FPS Pro. These were seen at Computex 2017 back in June, providing an upgrade in terms of functionality over the initial HyperX Alloy FPS keyboard offering.

HyperX Alloy Elite Keyboard Features

The HyperX Alloy Elite is the flagship mechanical keyboard in the lineup. It has a full-size 104-key layout with standard 1.25x bottom row so the keycaps are swappable. It uses Cherry MX switches like the initial Alloy FPS keyboard. Since it is a flagship gear, it has a lot more features including an 18 LED lightbar, titanium and textured WASD keys, analog audio control, various LED behaviour presets and a wrist-rest. This wrist-rest is detachable and there is also a USB passthrough on the keyboard body. Users can choose between Cherry MX brown (tactile silent), MX blues (tactile clicky) or MX reds (linear).

HyperX Alloy FPS Pro Features

The Alloy FPS Pro is a tenkeyless variant of the Alloy FPS. It retains the limited frame design so as not to take up much room on a desktop. This keyboard is also made with portability in mind, so the USB cable is detachable. It shares N-key rollover functionality over USB and a solid steel frame with the Alloy Elite. Users can choose between 6 LED modes and 5 brightness levels. In terms of Cherry MX switch availability, users can choose between Cherry MX brown (tactile silent), MX blues (tactile clicky) or MX reds (linear).

Pricing and Availability

The HyperX Alloy Elite costs $109.99 USD and will be available on most retail and e-tail outlets starting August 21. The Alloy FPS Pro shares the same availability date, but costs less at only $79.99 USD. Both keyboards come with a two-year limited warranty and switch availability varies per region.
