HyperX Pulsefire FPS Optical Gaming Mouse Review

Final Thoughts

Price

At just £59, the HyperX Pulsefire FPS Optical Gaming Mouse is good value for money. While it is not the cheapest mouse on the market when it comes down to it, you’re getting a perfect sensor, high build quality, and a well-known and trusted brand name; that’s worth paying for if you take your gaming seriously. It is around the same price at the M65 Pro, the G403, and the Rival 700, all of which offer comparable performance.

Overview

Picking the right gaming mouse can be tricky. There are so many options on the market; it’s hard to know where to start. The HyperX Pulsefire FPS has broad appeal, and it is well suited to multiple grip types; it can be comfortably held in a palm rest, fingertip, or claw grips.

The mouse is a little wider that most too, meaning it’s easier to really get a hold of it, and the rubber grips on the side are sure to keep it firmly in your hand. Overall, this makes it easy to use a lift-off technique if you like gaming at lower DPI settings.

The control layout is basic but familiar to everyone. I do like a few extra macro buttons on my mouse, but when it comes to competitive gaming, the fewer buttons there are that you could accidentally press, the better. A few more DPI options or a sniper button would be nice, but again, they’re not needed, and there are mice on the market for those who do.

The sensor performance is flawless, even at max DPI there was no hint of jitter or angle snapping, and when it comes to competitive FPS gaming, that’s vital to your performance. If you need to make fast and accurate adjustments, you need a sensor that can keep up, and this one certainly can.

Pros

  • Pixel perfect sensor performance
  • Omron switches
  • Excellent ergonomics
  • Lightweight braided cable
  • Stylish design
  • Durable side grips

Cons

  • None

“If you’re looking for a focused gaming mouse that’s going to help you nail those headshots, the Pulsefire FPS will not disappoint. It’s one of the best performing and most comfortable to use mice on the market today.”
