HyperX Pulsefire FPS Optical Gaming Mouse Review

Introduction

Competitive gaming is big business, and when it comes to winning, having the right tools for the job can be the difference between life and digital death. However, having the best gaming mouse for the job may not make you an eSports pro, but it can help remove a lot of problems and help you play at your best. The new Pulsefire gaming mouse from HyperX promises to deliver high-end precision with its optical sensor, excellent ergonomics, and a reasonable amount of features at a competitive price of just £59, but is it any good? Let’s find out!

“Hardcore and professional FPS gamers know an accurate, reliable mouse is essential equipment. HyperX™ Pulsefire FPS uses the proven Pixart 3310 sensor for accuracy and precision. Pulsefire FPS features four DPI presets to fit any play style, and the ergonomic, lightweight design allows you to game longer and more comfortably. Omron switches and six durable, ultra-responsive buttons give crisp, tactile feedback. The braided cable and large mouse skates prevent skipping and snagging in the clutch.” – HyperX

Features

  • Precise Pixart 3310 optical sensor – Pulsefire FPS gives you fluid and responsive tracking with no acceleration for improved accuracy.
  • Four tuned DPI presets to suit your playstyle – Four preset settings from 400-3200 DPI available at the push of a button. If you’re a long-range headhunter or a twitchy close-quarters assassin, Pulsefire FPS has a preset to match your play style.
  • Features premium Omron switches – The durable Omron switches in the Pulsefire FPS provide crisp, tactile feedback and are robust enough to survive even the most epic battles.
  • Six ultra-responsive buttons – Six responsive buttons ensure that no matter how firmly or slightly you click, Pulsefire FPS won’t miss a click in the heat of battle.
  • Balanced, lightweight build – The 95g construction has optimal weight distribution for rapid movements, and the ergonomic, lightweight design allows you to game longer and more comfortably.

Equipped with the well-known Pixar PWM3310 Optical sensor, the mouse can deliver 400/800/1600/3200 DPI with a top speed of 130ips, this means that it should be more than capable of keeping up in fast paced shooters. Also, the mouse buttons feature Omron switches, each rated for 20 million clicks.

Packaging and Accessories

The box comes nicely designed, showing off the mouse on the front, as well as detailing some of the features. Prominently on the front, it reads “precise optical mouse designed for first person shooters.”
