Hyte Officially Releases Its First Keyboard, The Keeb TKL

Back at Computex, HYTE revealed several products one of which was their first keyboard, the Keeb TKL with its rather eye-catching design. On to today where HYTE has officially released this keyboard at CES 2024.

HYTE Keeb TKL

Right away the Keeb TKL is something that stands out amongst the crowd and that is all down to its outer Crystal Bubble Polycarbonate case featuring a 155-pixel qRGB array which shines through illuminating the entire keyboard including the HX OEM profile PBT double-shot keycaps featuring shine-through legends. I can’t say this design appeals to me as a minimalist pleb, but I definitely know some people who would love it.

Aside from the illumination, the other standout piece of this board is the Dual Magnetic Rollers which are customisable through the HYTE Nexus software providing gamers with complete control over the volume, screen brightness, switches applications, tabs and much more. The board uses a TKL layout making it more ideal for gamers who want the additional mouse space without sacrificing too many of the functions of the keyboard, plus it offers two selectable typing angles of 3.73 and 6.06 degrees.

Internally the board uses a polished aluminium bottom plate to house the gasket-mounted inner workings of the Keeb TKL providing a robust structure. The switches in use for this board are the Fluffy Lavender linear switch which are pre-lubed and feature an actuation force of 40 grams, bottom out force of 53 grams, actuation distance of 1.5mm and 3.5mm bottom out distance. These switches are also hot-swappable with a 5-pin PCB, which is a necessity for keyboard enthusiasts who enjoy mixing things up.

For the larger keys, HYTE made use of Durock V2 screw-in stabilizers prelubed with Krytox 205g0 to reduce annoying pings. Alongside all of this is four different layers of sound dampening to ensure an acoustically pleasing typing experience.
