HYTE Y40 PC Case Review

A Closer Look – Exterior

This is one very interesting-looking case from the moment it’s out of the box. I’m leaving the protective film on for now but will remove that for the complete system build.

As you can see, the front glass and side glass have a pillarless design on the front left, giving you uncompromised views of the case interior.

This case is designed to go up on your desk, so the I/O is located low down on the front. I prefer my PC on the floor, so this is a bit of a pain, but certainly something to keep in my when placing your computer.

The top of the case looks fantastic, with a ventilation pattern that looks like an angular section of spider web.

There’s a massive window on the left side, so you’ll be able to showcase your hardware.

And then there’s even more of that spider web style ventilation on the right side too, so while you lose airflow from the front glass, it more than makes up for it in other places.

Around the back, you’ll find a rear fan mount, seven horizontal expansion slots, four vertical for use with the riser cable, and of course, the PSU mount at the bottom too.

Weirdly the rear fan doesn’t have normal screw mounts, but instead mounts into this uniquely shaped mesh instead.

On the bottom of the case there are two huge dust filters, further expanding the available airflow, and even here, the aesthetics are stunning, with more of that spider web design too, meaning this case looks great from top to bottom.
