i7 3960X, 3930K and 3820 processors to arrive by the end of 2011

Sources at Donanimhaber claim that Intel’s road map will see the i7 3960X, i7 3930K and i7 3820 processors released in the fourth quarter of 2011, so from October onwards these three processors which are Sandy Bridge-E processors will start to be made available to suppliers. These will run off the LGA 2011 socket whilst using the newest of Intel’s chipsets, the X79 which is intended specifically for the new socket.

All these processors will be i7 so expect good performance, a feature of these new LGA 2011 processors is quad channel memory support thanks to a much improved integrated memory controller. No specifics are known about the i7 3930K or the i7 3820 but we have already seen the specifications of the i7 3960X which you can see here.

There had been problems with ensuring Sandy Bridge-E launched this year because of Chipset issues but Intel have managed to fix the problem some what and ensure the processors can be released this year using the Patsburg A-B chipsets which feature fewer SATA 6GB/s ports than the still in development Patsburg D chipset. The slides also show us that the Ivy Bridge processors will be ready in March and April but the higher end models haven’t been planned for release until a later date, only the mainstream and a low end premium performance Ivy Bridges will be released in March-April 2012.
