ID-Cooling IS 50 & IS 40 Low-Profile CPU Cooler Review

Installation

There is a cut-away on the IS-50 to help with ram compatibility and as you can see, it works perfectly, allowing the cooler to pass over any memory modules without issue. Installation was a simple enough process, requiring just a few simple bolts through the retention brackets and the back of the motherboard.

The mounting kit is the same for the IS-40, the only real difference here is that the cooler has a much lower profile and a smaller footprint, meaning there’s no risk of compatibility issues with the motherboard VRM or your memory modules.

  1. At the stock acoustics test is that true the IS 40 is quieter than the IS 50? Or you just switched their names? It is enough the IS 40 for my i5-6500 rig or I’d be better to buy the big brother? Only for stock clocks, no OC and I want to play video games at full HD resolution.
