Performance

Stock performance on these coolers is about where I expected it to be. It’s not amazing, but for such a low-profile design with a limited surface area on the heat sinks, it’s certainly not bad and well within safe operating temperatures.

Noise levels on both are super quiet, certainly quiet enough for use in an HTPC and the fans didn’t have to work very hard to do their job.

It all fell to hell when overclocking, but in all honesty, this is what I expected to happen. The IS 50 just scraped by the benchmark, but I actually called the IS 40 testing off as with ambient temperatures factored in, it was in the high 90’s and moving towards 100. Basically, don’t use these for overclocking, they’re not designed for it.

It becomes evident when we look at the fan speeds too, as they had to work far too hard to keep things under control.
