GTA V for PC Delayed Again!

Screen Shot 2015-02-24 at 15.46.59

Rockstar Games has announced that the release of Grand Theft Auto V for the PC will be delayed again, this time until April 14th. The developer also announced today that Online Heists will now be coming to the console versions on March 10th.

This news marks the third delay to the PC port of the game, sparking anger amongst many PC gamers who have been holding out for it. It’s especially annoying considering the fact that the game was released for consoles back in September 2013 – 17 months ago.

GTAV for PC will be arriving on April 14th at retail and as a digital download. Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC. As a gesture of thanks for your understanding, we will grant anyone who has pre-ordered the game an additional $200,000 in-game cash for use in GTA Online. Rockstar Games

The question now of course, will this be the last delay?

  1. I find this pathetic. Why does Rockstar need to delay the game even further. Disable the features in which you can’t fix, and let the game release like it was on consoles- the core of the game with multiplayer. PC has the fortunate benefit of a thing called updates and they too, alike consoles, are made to update a game to fix it’s current problems. Making a whole section of users wait for nearly 2 years is preposterous in my opinion. They should have worked this out in the first year of bug fixing. If this game isn’t released on April 14th, I will NOT be spending my hard-earned money on it. The PC Master Race has waited too long for a game that was released for consoles almost 2 years ago.

    1. Initially they never intended to release the game on PC, thus the engine was never designed for PC, creating an engine takes time and do you really want a repeat of GTA IV, heck what about another AC Unity release?

And it’s not just as simple to disable “features in which you can’t fix”. It depends on how they’re set up and the dependencies of said features.

That said, no-one cares that if it’s delayed again you won’t buy it, there are plenty of people that will.
Saying that is as bad as those on YT who are like “if my demands aren’t met, I’m unsubbing”, it’s superfluous.

      1. I am not the only person I know who won’t be buying this game for full retail price. Rockstar is losing money by delaying this game as much as they have. And they know they could easily shift their attention to the more important things than working on something like Heist mode.

        1. People said the same about the console delays, it still did exceptionally well, I doubt they’re too concerned.

Perhaps they do, but it’s for them to decide, since they’re the developers and in my opinion, we should respect that, and the fact that there may be delays and not complain and/or pointlessly boycotting them.

I mean, if you want an unpolished game, let them know, because from what I understand, they would rather spend extra time fleshing it out than release a half baked product like so many other companies do (sadly).

    2. you obviously do not know much on how it works… as a dev I say that they can take their time to release a quality product as they promised… Time is not an issue. The PC Master Race aren’t a bunch of self centered, impatient 12 year olds… at least I hope so…- and no ElectroMan as I was not saying you were 12 or self centered-

    3. My point is, they are delaying it so that the Heists are ready. How about disabling that feature for now (considering it does not seem like a core component) and working solely on getting the engine ready to go. Because right now, they are building stuff onto a broken product. Anyone else here ever build a computer with a motherboard you know is broken? Well that motherboard is the engine, and Rockstar is the computer builder.
