ID-Cooling Auraflow 240 Liquid Cooler Review

Performance

Stock

For a 240 AIO cooler, stock temperatures are almost exactly what we would expect. The ID-Cooling Auraflow 240 does come in around the higher end (temperature wise) of the general product range and as such you can approach this one of two ways. It’s either exactly what you would expect (which it is) or it performs slightly less well than many of the competing brands (which it does). We are, however, on pretty much all levels only looking at a 1-3C difference and as such any criticism based on this should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Overclocked

When overclocked, the ID-Cooling Auraflow does perform much better finding itself in a better range of company. Once again, the figures are 1-3C higher than many other similar brands, but based on performance it’s very close in levels to the be quiet! Silent Loop 360 which does, after all, have more cooling capacity. Based on the two sets of results, the clearly better area is in overclocking and for many who like to push their systems, this is good news.

Stock Acoustics

ID-Cooling has traditionally not been a top contender when it comes to noise levels. It’s, therefore, no small coincidence that the stock acoustics for this cooler sits just above the figures for their SE214L. The difference though lies in that this is an AIO liquid cooler whereas that was an air cooler. As such, this performs significantly better than its co-branded air cooler. While it is on similar levels to all AIO 240mm coolers, it’s fairly clear that when you look lower down the list, this is a little bit louder than your average.

Overclocked Acoustics

Similar to how this performed better in temperature when overclocked, the same can be said for acoustics. Under testing, we would that under high load the exact same amount of overall noise levels were emitted. It did, however, become prone to some noise spikes during idle or gaming load and as such we would suggest that although the figures presented are accurate, it can, on occasion, go a little louder than usual.
