While you might be getting impressed with the design and visuals, remember that this is still a CPU cooler and as such it has a very important job to do. So how did the ID-Cooling Auraflow X 360 perform? Well, exactly as we would’ve expected.
As you can see in the results below, this cooler provided the best temperature test results we have seen to date and as the chart clearly indicates, we’ve reviewed a lot of coolers. Admittedly, it isn’t top of the list by a huge margin (and you could argue it’s only technically top), but it is there regardless and entirely on merit. While it does drop a few places when the CPU is overclocked, it is still impressively high in the table. As such, in terms of CPU cooling, the ID-Cooling Auraflow X 360 is clearly a top performer.
There is, however, a trade-off for that performance. In terms of noise levels, these fans are more than a little vocal. In addition, the pump head block suffers from a lot of ‘gurgling’ when working hard. While it might have been top of the charts in keeping things cool, it finds itself in the bottom third in terms of keeping the noise levels down. Don’t get us wrong, this isn’t hideously noisy and is no more intrusive than most. When asked to step up to the task though, those 3 fans do make a fair bit of noise.
In fairness, however, this is exactly what we expect from an ID-Cooling product. Good, but not quiet.
