Although we do not have a currently confirmed price with an online retailer, we understand that the ID-Cooling SE-914-XT ARGB will retail for something in the region of £30. As such, in terms of price tags, this is clearly an exceptionally low figure that should already have you tempted if you’re in the market for a low-cost, but fancy looking, CPU cooling solution.
Despite its remarkably low price tag, the ID-Cooling SE-914-XT ARGB still packs plenty of features that would suggest that it could’ve retailed for something significantly higher. Putting the aesthetics to one side for the moment, however, all aspects of the design look excellent and the ID-Cooling SE-914-XT ARGB has clearly been both manufactured and put together well. It’s an expensive product, but it neither looks nor feels cheap!
Admittedly, it’s not a fantastic performer in terms of high-end temperature control, nor should you expect it to be at this end of the market. When you throw in those fancy ARGB lighting effects into the mix, however, and it’s near whisper-quiet performance, it’s honestly hard to find much to grumble about here! – More so, and I’ll admit I’ve mentioned this more than once in this review, ID-Cooling has taken the very smart decision to include a manual controller for the ARGB lighting. Put simply, not everyone has an ARGB sync compatible motherboard, and, as such, with this inclusion, even those people can still enjoy all the razzle-dazzle this has to show!
I don’t think it would be unkind to suggest that ID-Cooling has presented the SE-914-XT ARGB as a fancier alternative to stock cooling solutions while offering all of the bells and whistles available with the ARGB lighting trend. Taking the price this cooler retailers for, we feel more than happy enough to confirm that in terms of those remits, this cooler hits it out of the park.
It could perform better in terms of temperature control and who knows, maybe a little fiddling with the PWM fan settings could find an excellent middle ground between low acoustic output and a few centigrade off load figures, but as far as we’re concerned, if you’re looking for an affordable cooling solution that does its job well, quietly, and offers more than a few aesthetic touches, the ID-Cooling SE-914-XT ARGB is a perfect choice!
