Iiyama G-Master Red Eagle GB2766HSU Monitor Review

There’s no shortage of great monitors these days, from humble office work to high-end gaming and eSports monitors, it seems all the big name brands have a great range to choose from. Of course, Iiyama is no exception, and while they’ve got a competitive range of monitors, they’re often a little more competitive on price than most big PC gaming brands. Their RED EAGLE G-MASTER series is already proving a big hit, and the new GB2766HSU-B1 I have in the office looks to be one of the best of the bunch, offering high-end features in a more entry-level package.

GB2766HSU

The GB2766HSU comes with a full HD 1920×1080 panel, which has a gorgeous 1500R curved 27″ panel, however, other sizes are available. What’s really great, however, is that it offers up a blisteringly fast 165Hz refresh rate with a 1ms MPRT and FreeSync Premium, which should all ensure a silky smooth and clear gaming experience. It’s a good balance having that higher refresh rate and an HD panel, as even a modest mid-range graphics card can hit these kinds of frame rates without too much trouble, needing about as much power as rendering at 2560×1440 at 60Hz. The addition of some HDR support, built-in 2W speakers and a versatile stand certainly add to the appeal too.
