IMAX Will Build You a Cinema For $400,000

We’ve all had time to think about our perfect houses. Ranging from the location and number of beds to those little extra features like a swimming pool or rooftop garden, there are lots of little things you can add to make your place more enjoyable. How many have considered adding a cinema to their house?  IMAX will now only help you build one but provide you with everything you need to enjoy your films in style.

IMAX’s private theatre division is there to provide you with just that, a private cinema experience for you and your friends. With the entry level deal, titled Palais, offering you a screening room, 18 seats and dual 4K 2D/3D projectors alongside the proprietary IMAX sound system. With screen sizes generally being 3 metres (10ft) tall, you’ll have plenty of space to enjoy the film with your friends for just $400K (£300k

If you wanted to go further the platinum bundle offers you space for up to 40 people, their website doesn’t state if the extra $600 (putting the bundle at $1 million) grants you any other bonuses. The best part of this deal? For an extra $10k you can get the Home Premier box, a piece of hardware designed to let you watch new films as they release in your private cinema. In order to do so, you have to pay an upfront fee, like with many of the rental services that charge around $500 per movie, a little more expensive than movie tickets.

While only offered in China and the US, the plan is to expand the companies range into Europe, but the Home Premier box will stay in China thanks to cinemas exclusive rights on new releases.
