In-Dev MSI FM2 motherboard spotted

An MSI FM2 motherboard has been showcased over on the VR-Zone forums. The board is a very early sample and is currently still under development since AMD’s FM2 release is still quite a while off yet. The MS-7778 doesn’t look like your typical consumer motherboard from the basic design, it probably targets OEMs like HP or Dell. There is a single x16 PCI Express slot, three x1 PCI Express slots and a half size mini PCI Express slot. There are six SATA III 6Gb/s ports, one USB 3.0 header, two USB 2.0 headers, an Ethernet port, a DVI and D-sub connector and 7.1-channel audio with optical S/PDIF out.

We expect this motherboard will be based off the upcoming A85 chipset but the A55 and A75 chipsets will still work with FM2 processors although FM1 and FM2 sockets will not be compatible. AMD will be unveiling more about FM2 and Trinity at Computex 2012 in Taiwan.
