Game developers have recently added in-game crash warnings for players using Intel’s 13th and 14th Gen CPUs. This decision comes after numerous reports of instability issues with these processors. Notably, Path of Titans by Alderon Games has introduced these notifications to inform users of potential problems.
In-Game Alerts for CPU Issues
Alderon Games, the developer of Path of Titans, was among the first to highlight the issue. According to a post on X/Twitter, the game now features a warning message that appears when it crashes on systems using Intel’s 13th or 14th Gen CPUs. The message, titled “Problematic CPU Detected,” informs players that their CPU may cause crashes due to compatibility issues with Unreal Engine 5.
When the error screen appears, players are given the option to follow a link with information on how to mitigate these crashes. This link provides instructions such as updating BIOS settings or installing new drivers to help stabilize the game.
Intel has recognized the problem and is working on a fix. A microcode update is anticipated by mid-August to resolve the elevated voltage issues causing the crashes. Until then, developers continue to alert players to ensure a smoother gaming experience.
