A Closer Look – Taurus

In the box, you’ll find a protective carry bag, same as we had with the Aries, as well as the usual documentation.

There is a nice quality rubber coated USB to Micro-USB charging cable, which comes with a Velcro tidy strap, as well as an extra set of silicone ear buds.

The Taurus are quite different from the other two sets we have in the office today, as they’re the only wireless set out of the three. The wire is quite short, but is designed to pass from ear to ear around your neck, but is long enough not to feel restrictive.

On the cable, you’ll find a built-in microphone, as well as a master control that can be used for answering calls, pausing your music, etc. The microphone is pin hole, but there’s also a small LED indicator here for power, status, etc.

On the other side, you’ll find two more controls, which are used for the master volume. These are great, as it means you don’t have to get your device out of your bag/pocket to make quick changes.

The housing of the headphones is a little bigger than most, which allows extra room to accommodate larger drivers, built-in rechargeable batteries and the Bluetooth functionality.

The chrome finish to the metal housing looks absolutely stunning and is extremely well finished, giving them a premium look and feel. They’re a little heavy, but well balanced when fitted in your ears. Down the side of one of the drivers, you’ll find a Micro-USB port with waterproof flap, which is used for charging the headphones.

The design of the headphones means that they’re sweatproof, so wearing the to the Gym shouldn’t be an issue.

The top of the housing is flat, but contains a relatively powerful magnet.

This means that you can snap them together easily and wear them around your neck when not in use; this is really handy if you’re wearing sportswear that doesn’t have pockets.

The silicone ear buds are easily removed for cleaning and you can see that the driver housing is a good size, so hopefully we’ll hear some robust audio performance too.

Here you can see how they snap together around your neck.
