Inateck Mercury Box
OK, that’s a fun look at those little bits and pieces, so what about the star of the show? The MercuryBox is fairly self-explanatory, it’s a Bluetooth speaker for mobile devices and I’m sure you’ve seen similar products before, but I’ve been looking forward to this one, as I’ve heard it’s very good. The box is nicely designed, with an image of the speaker on the front of the box.
Around the back, we’ve got the main spec. There’s an Aux-in, dual 5 watt speakers, a long-life rechargeable battery, anodized aluminium body and it’s water proof!
In the box, you’ll find a protective leather pouch and the instruction manual.
There’s a 3.5mm cable, a micro-USB to USB cable for charging the device and a wrist strap.
What’s really nice to see is that the MercuryBox comes with some of the best looking and feeling cables I’ve ever seen bundled with a product. The cables are sleeved and come with gorgeous chrome-finished connectors.
The body of the speaker is anodized aluminium and that gives is great durability, as well as a premium look and feel. The front face is perforated to provide the speakers with somewhere to drive their sound and looks pretty cool also.
there’s a rubber cap on the right side, keeping the ports waterproof; you can even take this unit into the shower!
Pull the cover down, you’ll find a micro-USB charging socket and a 3.5mm AUX in.
Around the back, the Inateck logo, as well as a bass port.
Two tough rubber feet on the bottom.
All the basic controls on the top, as well as a pinhole microphone.
The unit is slim, but sturdy to hold and it’s size makes it easy to transport, without being so small that the speakers would be useless.
It’s a little longer than my Xperia Z3, so it would easily fit in your backpack.
When powered on, the Bluetooth pair button lights up on top and an audible beep lets you know when the device is paired.
