Inateck Wireless Bluetooth 3.0 Portable Keyboard Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The Inatek Wireless Bluetooth 3.0 Stainless Steel Keyboard is available from Amazon for around $27, which is a pretty good deal given its overall features and format support. More details can be found on the official product page.

Overview

I really like this little keyboard, it’s pretty slick in terms of design with its stainless steel construction and while it is just a simple keyboard, I can tell some effort has gone into the overall look and feel of the product. The keys are nicely spaced, they have a nice responsive clank to them when you type and the keyboard is just heavy enough that it doesn’t slide around your desk, but not so heavy you would notice the extra weight in your backpack.

Build quality is exceptionally good thanks to the metal chassis construction, the only thing I would have like to have seen included is a soft protective slipcase, as there is still the chance you could damage the keys if you travel a lot.

This is a great keyboard for HTPC use, but keep in mind that you would still also need a wireless mouse, or you would need to invest in a keyboard that has some kind of mouse control built-in. The perfect task for this keyboard is for smart devices such as tablets, as you can turn your usual tablet into an ultrabook with minimal fuss, as it’s perfect for typing away on Google Docs, or any other similar mobile document editor.

Portability is key and the rechargeable battery in the Inatek is good for 30 days of standby, so it’s great for those long business trips. Of course, if you need to charge it, it’s simple a case of using a microUSB cable and it’s not like USB ports or plugs are hard to come by these days.

Pros

  • Lightweight design
  • Slim and compact
  • Metal construction
  • Responsive keys
  • Multimedia keys
  • Multi-format support
  • Affordable price

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • A build-in mouse function would be perfect for HTPC

“Having a single keyboard that works with a range of iOS, Android and Windows based systems is great, especially if you have a lot of different technology around the house that doesn’t typically come with a standalone keyboard. Touch screens aren’t always ideal for working or typing emails and the Inateck keyboard offers a convenient input method at an affordable price.”
