The Tekken franchise is renowned for stylish signature moves and memorable characters. Ideally, these moves are best kept in video game form, as they are frightfully difficult to replicate and potentially dangerous. Despite this, a stuntman called Eric Jacobus decided to tackle the challenge head-on and released a series of videos.
Jacobus’ moves are filmed with an overlay to contrast his performance with the original game. Additionally, the impact of each strike is shown via intense post-processing effects. These are taken from the Tekken games and adds a degree of flair to his video series. Admittedly, I’m not the most knowledgeable person about Tekken, but the games are thoroughly enjoyable. Saying that, I do prefer the early PlayStation One titles.
The Real Life Tekken series is a fascinating watch, and I was in awe of Jacobus’ skills. Furthermore, it showcases the abilities of leading Tekken characters and enhances your appreciation for each strike. Clearly, this isn’t recommend unless you have martial arts experience and perfect balance. Although, it’s a unique fitness regime which incorporates gaming quite nicely.
As a stuntman, Jacobus is highly trained and published a whole host of jaw-dropping videos. While I’m tempted to give these moves a try, it’s probably safer to leave it to the professionals.
