Since the N64, one of the most popular games in the Nintendo franchise has been the Smash Brothers series. With a release on every console since the N64, it was surely only a matter of time before this was released on the Nintendo Switch.
Well, an industry insider has revealed that Smash Bros. is in the works and that Nintendo will announce it any moment now!
Emily Rogers is perhaps one of the biggest commentators when it comes to Nintendo rumours. As an industry insider, she hasn’t always been right but has proven reliable on more than one occasion. In the report via Mypotatogames, with practically everything she has ever said, she always adds a dose of reality. What she says is true to the best of her knowledge at the time.
In her latest rumour, however, she has suggested that not only is Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch in the works, but we should also have an official announcement from Nintendo very shortly.
Yes, almost certainly, but like Emily Rogers, I add a little caveat of my own. Smash Bros. will release for Nintendo Switch, that is a 100% guarantee. After the massive sales and success of the console, Nintendo practically has to. Therefore, the rumours that a Smash Bros. for the system is on the way is not so much a rumour as a no-brainer.
The real key point about this specific rumour is that Nintendo is going to announce it any moment now. That is interesting.
Short answer, I think she might be right here. A March announcement for a big summer gaming smash hit? Sounds about right to me.
While time will, of course, tell if this rumour has (or had) any legs, the source is reliable to most and overall, it sounds legit.
