Following their recent iCHILL DDR4 memory announcement, Inno3D is now announcing their iCHILL RTX card. This is the ‘Frostbite’ version which comes with a waterblock pre-installed. This block is using an Alphacool waterblock design and is available in RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080, and RTX 2070 versions.
The iCHILL series is Inno3D’s high-performance segment and comes with the most features. In fact, this iCHILL RTX card series also has RGB LEDs illuminating the glass acrylic top. Since users have a clear view of the nickel-plated cooling engine, they will be able to appreciate using coloured coolants as well.
Although the block itself only takes up a single slot, the presence of a DisplayPort connector on top of the USB-C port requires a 2-slot height IO plate. Otherwise, the video card has two more DisplayPorts and one HDMI port for multi-monitor output.
The back of the card also comes with an iCHILL Frostbite backplate. This is a full coverage backplate held in place by screws. Although it does not light up like the acrylic cover, it features custom iCHILL graphics.
Since the waterblock is pre-installed, users do not need to worry about disassembling the stock cooler on their card. That means the thermal paste and thermal pads are already placed underneath. All you really need is to place the tubing in to incorporate it in your loop via the pair of G1/4 ports.
Although Inno3D did not reveal official pricing yet, a standalone Alphacool GPX RPG waterblock costs around €149.99 EUR. So expect to pay a premium closer to that on top of the regular RTX video card price.
