Right off the bat, Inno3D one of the first to reveal their Founders Edition GeForce GTX 1080. Now that reviews are out, we know all there is know about the full GP104 GPU from Nvidia. All we are waiting for now, are for the supposedly cheaper custom GTX 1080 cards to arrive and unlock the full performance of the chip. Inno3D today has revealed their latest graphics card cooling solution, the iChill X4 Ultra.
Moving forward, there will be two main iChill lineups, the X3 and X4. Both feature 3 main 92mm fans, with the X3 using Scythe silent fan blades while the X4 aims for cooler temperatures with 15 turbine fan blades. The X4 also features an additional 50mm fan for the ram and PCB. The Active Power Cooling System provides a large heatsink for the board and VRM that is linked to dual heatpipes cooled by the 50mm fan.
In addition to the new coolers, Inno3D is introducing a new way to tell GPU load from the LED colour. Full gear gaming is red, lower power gaming is green and idle is blue. Hopefully, Inno3D will provide a way to change the colours to suit user preferences, especially to match the build theme. Given the changes, I can’t wait to see what the cards will look like.
