Inno3D Reveals Redesigned RTX 40 Series Cards With Hidden Power Connector

Inno3D has redesigned the power connectors on some of its RTX 40 series cards and brought a new hidden power connector revolutionising cable management in PC building.

This new design is for Inno3D’s RTX 4070, 4060 Ti and 4060 Twin X2 white edition cards and has the opportunity to improve cable management considerably. The new design places the power cable effectively reverse the location of where it would traditionally be and places it within the ventilation holes of the backplate of the card. The position of the connector means that the cable will come through the case grommet and straight into the card rather than doing a bend around to the front of the card which can cause issues with larger cards in smaller cases with less room for a bend, we’ve all seen the photos of people with their cables crammed up against the side panel.

Is This a Good Idea?

So my initial thoughts are that this is a fairly good solution and would blend well with the many cableless experiments we’ve seen from brands with their reversed motherboard connections. Another thought I had was that this looks like it would be a bit of a faff to install the cable but luckily that has been considered as the backplate is partially removable giving easy access to the port for cable installation.

The Inno3D twin cards, in my opinion, are some of the best-looking cards in this generation and this is a nice improvement for those who hate cables, plus Inno3D has included white power cables despite them being hidden.
