Cost Per Frame & Overall Average FPS
Well it’s here where the price cut makes quite a stark difference. At 1440p, we were originally seeing a cost of $8.30 per frame on the RTX 4080 based on the overall average of 144 FPS while the 4080 SUPER now comes in a pretty healthy 19% cheaper per frame. While this is nice to see, it still puts it as more costly than both the 7900 XT and 7900 XTX from AMD even though performance sits just between them when looking at the average FPS..
At 4K it’s a similar story. The original RTX 4080 was coming in at $18.52 per frame, while the new and cheaper 4080 SUPER comes in at $14.56 per frame so around 21% though again it is more expensive when compared to both top-end offerings from AMD which have seen some price cuts lately. Maybe that was in anticipation for this launch, and knowing what NVIDIA were going to come out with.
