Instagram is evolving slowly and surely, as the Facebook-owned photo-sharing platform is receiving new features on a regular basis. Apart from the new Stories feature borrowed from Snapchat, the app could potentially receive support for Live Videos, at least according to a recent report from a Russian publication named T Journal. Apparently, one of its readers stumbled upon a rather unusual section of the Stories feature that included a a “LIVE” icon.
Still, since the addition has not been announced through official channels just yet, it doesn’t really show any content at the time of writing. Moreover, this Live button is joined by another one that says “Go Insta,” which could be used to start off personal live broadcasts. Since the Facebook app already has a fully functional Live Broadcast service, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched for the company to introduce one in its photo-sharing app. The possibility is further backed by the fact that these buttons were uncovered in a Beta version of Instagram on a Nexus 6P , but this also means that we could be looking at a relatively long wait before they will be implemented officially.
Would you use the Live Videos functionality regularly if it eventually made its way over to Instagram?
