Integral Memory Introduces 512GB microSDXC Memory Cards

UK’s Integral Memory is announcing that they have the world’s largest capacity microSDXC memory card at 512GB out soon. Previously, the largest capacity was 400GB for such storage. More importantly, their new 512GB microSDXC UHS-I U1 card meets the Video Speed Class 10 standard (V1). Specifically, it is capable of 80MB/sec maximum transfer speed. This ensures fast data transfers and reliable full HD video captures.

However, V10 is insufficient for reliable high-bitrate 8K recording as those require a V60 or V90 rating. The Video Speed Class standard measures the minimum speed rather than the maximum. It would still be a great addition for photographers and full HD video recording however.

“Consumers have been clear in their call for increased storage, as mobile devices have become essential to many in everyday life,” commented James Danton, marketing manager, Integral Memory. “The need to provide extended memory for smartphones, tablets and a growing range of other mobile devices such as action cams and drones has been answered. As a company, we are very proud to be the first to achieve the 512GB capacity milestone in microSDXC, worldwide”.

Pricing and Availability

Since the microSDXC card is the first of its kind to market, expect it to cost quite a bit once it becomes available on February 2018. Even 400GB cards currently fetch for around $250 USD. Expect it to cost somewhere north of £200.
