Intel Arc A580 AotS Benchmark Leaks Online!
Mike Sanders / 2 years ago
Sooner or later, Intel will finally decide to launch its Arc graphics cards in Western markets. Exactly when, however, still remains a (increasingly annoying) mystery. – It has, however, been widely speculated (borderline known) that the series would likely be comprised of four separate GPUs. The A380, A580, A750, and A770.
Of these, while there has certainly been plenty of rumour, speculation, and in regards to the A380 even some indications of what level of performance we should expect from it, the A580 has metaphorically speaking, been running a much tighter ship. Truth be told, hardly anything has been mentioned about the GPU other than, you know, its existence.
Following a report via TechPowerUp, however, a benchmark has appeared from Ashes of the Singularity which, based on the information, says that it has come from the Intel Arc A580!
Intel Arc A580 – Benchmarked in AotS
Now we’ve said this once and we’ll say it again here, but it should be noted that in terms of comparative results, Ashes of the Singularity is a pretty benchmarking tool. Albeit, sadly, one that does still seem to get used quite a lot. Even despite the fact that it’s bloody ancient! – Putting this to one side, however, this is our first indication of what level of performance we can expect from this, basically, entry-level GPU.
So, what level of performance are we looking at here? Well, overall, it seems that we’re in the realms of the Intel Arc A580 being roughly on par with something like the Nvidia 3050 or AMD 6600 (non-XT). Admittedly, not too exciting, but it is hard to understate just how popular this entry-level market is!
What Do We Like?
Like the benchmark figures which have appeared for the A380, the A580 isn’t looking to be an overly exciting GPU either. – Comparatively though, the A580 is at least looking to be mildly competent at gaming (which the A380 is seemingly not!).
Of course, the success or failure of all of Intel’s upcoming Arc graphics cards will ultimately boil down to how much they’re going to cost. Fingers crossed though, if Intel is willing to so super aggressive, the A580 is at least looking fairly solid as an entry-level solution. Let’s just hope it has an entry-level price to match!
