Early rumours of Intel’s latest X299 HEDT platform replacing the current X99 was set to be released at Gamescom in Germany in August but according to Benchlife.info, who has been a reliable source of many PC-related leaks over the last several years, the new X299 HEDT platform could actually arrive as early as June just in time for Computex 2017 in Taiwan. Computex is scheduled for May 31 to June 3, 2017 and according to Benchlife, the production schedule lines up as they are slated for the 25th week of the year. Codenamed ‘Basin Falls’, the X299 HEDT platform will make use of 6-core up to 10-core Skylake-X CPUs with up to 44 lanes of PCIe 3.0 (four more than X99), and will support 2667MHz DDR4 (up from 2400MHz in X99).
