WCCFTech have managed to score some Intel presentation slides which reveal the performance of the upcoming “Silvermont” CPUs in the Atom Z3000 series on the Bay Trail platform. These CPUs use the latest 22nm process and are available with up to 4 cores and 4 threads, 2MB of L2 cache, up to 4GB of LPDDR3, Intel HD Graphics with 4 Execution Units and there will be six models. Above you can see the full specifications of all the six models. However, the really interesting thing to see is that the performance has been partially revealed.
Of course we should take these results with the relevant precautions – they are prepared by Intel’s marketing team so have been run in a way that favours the Intel Atom Z3000 series the most. Even with that said the Silvermont based Z3770 looks to be a great part capable of smoking the best Snapdragon 800 SoC out of the water.
3D Gaming is where Atom Z3770 succeeds and we can see the huge improvement over the best Clover Trail Atom processor the Z2760.
On the light media side of things the Z3770 does significantly better than all the competition including Intel predecessors.
Finally the device also allows you to run 32 bit Windows programs something that Nvidia’s Tegra and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon simply cannot do.
