Intel Braswell Delayed Again

The Braswell SoC chip was originally scheduled for Q1 2015 release date, but back in July we heard that the production of Braswell had been pushed back and it customers would have to wait at least until March 2015, but more likely April or May.

Now it has been pushed once again and delayed by another quarter due to slower than expected sample validation. Current “Ready To Ship” dates of Braswell microprocessors are June to August 2015 and their production is expected to start in April to June 2015.

Braswell is the future entry-level Intel desktop and mobile processors that will be built on 14nm technology. The Braswell SoCs will feature 2 or 4 “Airmont” CPU cores  capable of out-of-order execution  and 8th generation graphics with 16 Execution Units.

Both the CPU and the GPU cores will support burst technology. The chips will also incorporate 1 MB or 2 MB L2 cache, dual-channel DDR3 memory controller, security engine and several modern I/O interfaces. The processors are going to replace current generation of “Bay Trail-M” and “Bay Trail-D” budget products.
