IGPU, IGPU + GPU Benchmarks
At the time of writing, it’s not possible to combine to a discrete graphics solution and iGPU through parallel processing. However, the DirectX 12 API can potentially support this feature and provide a slight boost in graphics performance. Of course, iGPUs should be considered as a last resort because they’re not very powerful and pale in comparison to budget graphics cards like the RX 460. Nevertheless, Intel’s HD Graphics 630 is a step in the right direction and outperforms the previous integrated hardware.
3DMark
In 3DMark, the Intel i5-7500 recorded a decent Fire Strike score and slots in above the i7-6700K. Not only that, the performance is extremely close to the i5-7600K.
Dirt Rally
Rather impressively, the processor’s iGPU can uphold a playable frame-rate in Dirt Rally without any substantial dips. Granted, the preset isn’t ideal and you’d be better served with a discrete graphics card but this shouldn’t detract from the progress which has been made.
Tomb Raider
Throughout the Tomb Raider benchmark, the iGPU hovers towards a 50 frames-per-second average and maintains a more consistent frame-rate than the previous microarchitecture.
