3DMark Firestrike
3DMark tests your system’s GPU and CPU performance by rendering extremely demanding game-like scenes in real-time. The faster the benchmark runs, the better your score. Now your quest begins. What can you do to get a better score?
3DMark is available on Steam here.
Starting with 3DMark FireStrike and we straight away start to see the 13700K pushing ahead of the i9 12900K by just under 4% but what’s more interesting is that the 13700K has a lead over the more expensive 7900X by 8% while the physics score sees a slightly larger lead of just under 10% over the Ryzen 9 CPU.
3DMark Timespy
Time Spy is a DirectX 12 benchmark test for gaming PCs running Windows 10 and above only. With its pure DirectX 12 engine, built from the ground up to support the latest API features like asynchronous compute, explicit multi-adapter, and multi-threading, Time Spy is the ideal benchmark for testing the DirectX 12 performance of modern graphics cards and is typically a good benchmark for mid-to-high-end hardware. Furthermore, Timespy Extreme is designed for 4K performance testing.
3DMark is available on Steam here.
As we move onto Timespy, it’s a very similar story with the 13700K edging ahead of last generations 12900K, though this time we see the 13700K sitting at the top of our stack, ahead of the 7950X by just under 6% and finding that shiny new 7950X sitting behind the last generation i9 as well.
Geekbench 5
Geekbench 5 is a cross-platform benchmark that measures your system’s performance with the press of a button. How will your mobile device or desktop computer perform when push comes to crunch? How will it compare to the newest devices on the market? Find out today with Geekbench 5.
Available now on Geekbench.
In Geekbench and taking a look at single core performance, there is a small 3% performance improvement on the new i7 when compared against the Alder Lake i9 processor, though the 7900X still manages to push ahead, albeit, by 2%, which considering the Ryzen CPU is 22% more expensive than the i7, I’ll happily chalk this up as a win for Intel.
Moving onto multi-core and again, generation to generation, we see some pretty impressive gains, and on top of that, see the 13700K pushing just under 7% more performance than the more expensive Ryzen 9 7900X.
PCMark 10
PCMark 10 features a comprehensive set of tests that cover the wide variety of tasks performed in the modern workplace. With a range of performance tests, custom run options, Battery Life Profile, and new Storage benchmarks, PCMark 10 is the complete PC benchmark for the modern office.
Available now on Steam.
In PCMark 10 Express, the Ryzen 7900X fights back with a 3% lead over the 13700K and even sees the Ryzen 5 7600X around 2% faster than the new i7 as well.
