Intel Core i7 2700k Flagship Showdown Review
Cinebench R11.5
CINEBENCH is a real-world cross platform test suite that evaluates your computer’s performance capabilities. CINEBENCH is based on MAXON’s award-winning animation software CINEMA 4D, which is used extensively by studios and production houses worldwide for 3D content creation. MAXON software has been used in blockbuster movies such as Spider-Man, Star Wars, The Chronicles of Narnia and many more. CINEBENCH is the perfect tool to compare CPU and graphics performance across various systems and platforms (Windows and Mac OS X). And best of all: It’s completely free.
The results between the two Intel Core i7 series processors, were very similar, even when overclocked and the technology they include are much better in terms of rendering than that of the physical eight core AMD FX-8150.
Super PI
Super PI is a computer program that calculates pi to a specified number of digits after the decimal point—up to a maximum of 32 million. It uses Gauss–Legendre algorithm and is a Windows port of the program used by Yasumasa Kanada in 1995 to compute pi to 232 digits.
The results in Super PI were very close between the Core i7 series processors, with the 2700k showing that the extra 100MHz makes a bit of a difference. Compared to the AMD counterpart, the graph says it all really.
Nice review, Andy
wait… the graphs show the 2700k at 4.6ghz, not 5.3?
That's correct, to compare to the other processors (fx-8150) we had to find a common ground that they could all clock to. That was 4.6GHz. We then also show the MAX overclock of the chip which is 5.3GHz, but the FX 8150 can't do this under our condition.
Can't u show us 5,3Mhz results?! Cheapers.
5.3ghz…. Not sure you would want to try 5.3mhz.
