To test this processor we ran a similar system to previous processor reviews except we have changed the processor and motherboard in order to be able to run this new Intel platform. There is one slight change to the test system, which shouldn’t affect performance results, this was opting for the Corsair H100i over the Corsair H80. The test procedure sees us running the processor at stock, and then overclocked, for the overclocked tests we run them at the maximum achievable overclock which is clearly specified in brackets.

We would like to thank Asus, Corsair, Kingston and Lian Li for supplying us with our test system components.
