Intel Core i7 5960X “Haswell-E” Processor Review
OpenCL Benchmarks – Compubench and Luxmark
Compubench CL
CompuBench is a unified performance benchmarking tool that gives realistic feedback on the performance of various compute API implementations used for parallel programming of heterogeneous systems. Based on CLBenchmark, the first professional OpenCL benchmark on the market, it compares CPUs, GPUs and accelerators of desktop and mobile devices by their compute performance characteristics. Download here.
Compubench would not run with the Core i7 5960x, we think a compatibility issue with Intel’s old OpenCL 1.2 driver and this new CPU is to blame.
Luxmark
LuxMark is a OpenCL benchmark tool. The idea for the program was conceived in 2009 by Jean-Francois ‘Jromang’ Romang. The idea was quite simple, wrap SLG inside an easy to use graphical user interface and use it as a benchmark for OpenCL. Download here.
Nice Review
32GB-DDR4 just a little bit of Ram then 🙂 , thats going to cost abit also do you think intel will unlock more cores on HEDT chips in the future, i can see exstream overclockers having fun, what with the option of x4 GPUs and not using thermal paste
Yes I think so, I see scalability of the LGA 2011-3 platform in terms of cores considering the equivalent Xeon platform in the same package has up to 16 cores
i think i see what your getting at your saying the 2011-3 has been brought up to the same as the Xeon chips with its 8 cores and 16 threads already which has acheived a better chip for a lower price than the Xeon. So this could be seen as a sign of future chips with more cores being unlocked on other platforms. i still run a 1366 i7 extreme 975 at 4000.00MHz or there abouts i am looking to upgrade now as its been some 5 years 🙂
