CPU Benchmarks
Ashes of the Singularity
Straight away we see some good results from this CPU. However, the older generation is pulling a bit ahead. This is interesting for so many reasons, however, like the Ryzen launch, I suspect it’s the game not using the 10-core CPU to its full potential and an update may be needed to address this.
Cinebench R15
Cinebench is making no mistake of that 10-core 20-thread CPU, and taking full advantage of what it has to offer. These speeds are quite literally insane. If you’ve got some rendering to do, the i9-7900X is going to deliver.
Handbrake
Strangely, video processing was great again, but still not up to the speeds of the old i7’s. Again, perhaps this will be addressed with a software update, and we’ll certainly re-test when that happens.
WPrime
Flip side again, the WPrime scores are incredible, blazing a trail to our fastest ever 1024M time. This is a big flag that the Handbrake test was faulty, as we can see the chip does have massive performance.
