Now let’s get to the real fun stuff, and put the gaming performance to the test! Straight away, we see the stock CPU clocking in our 4th fastest time. However, overclocking pushed the score to a whopping 17671, a noticeable improvement over previous generations.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

Again, rock solid results here, just beating out the Ryzen 1800X by almost 2fps. That’s not a significant lead, but faster is faster. Of course, it’s also around 10fps faster than the 7700K, which is not to be sniffed at.

Shadow of Mordor

As we’ve seen, in some tests, the 7900X just isn’t hitting that top spot. However, it’s hardly lacking either at around 138fps.
