Power Consumption
Well, ain’t that something!? The power usage on this CPU is immense, and while I must accept that 10-core needs more than well, anything less than 10-cores, this is still pretty high. Overclocking took things much further, blasting a new record for chomping away at your electricity bill.
Temperatures
All that power has to go somewhere, and it certainly does. The CPU topped out at a mighty 98c even with our stunning Noctua ND-D15S CPU cooler. We’ve seen other site and friends in the industry running 240mm radiators, and still getting the same results. I managed to overclock to 4.8 GHz, but when you see temperatures passing 100c, stable or not, I think it’s time to wind those clocks back a little. Long story short, buy a big chassis, fit the biggest radiator you can, thank me later.
