Intel‘s upcoming Core Ultra 7 265KF has made waves in recent benchmarks, showing strong performance against both its predecessor, the i7-14700K, and even the high-end i9-14900K. Recent V-Ray 6 test results demonstrate that the 265KF is shaping up to be a formidable contender in the CPU market, outperforming the i7-14700KF by 34.38% thread for thread. Although it trails the i9-14900K by 6.77%, the gap is smaller than many expected for a mid-range CPU.
The Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF features 20 cores (8 performance cores and 12 efficiency cores) and a base clock speed of 3.9 GHz, with boosts up to 5.5 GHz. In the V-Ray benchmark, it scored 33,270 points, which places it just ahead of the i7-14700K (31,525 points). Additionally, despite having fewer threads than the i9-14900K, it managed to hold its own in performance.
In comparison to AMD, the Ryzen 9 7900X lagged behind, with an average score of 30,386 points, while the Ryzen 9 9900X performed better, reaching 40,034 points.
The Core Ultra 7 265KF is expected to launch as part of Intel’s Arrow Lake-S series in October 2024, marking another major leap in multi-threaded processing power for Intel’s desktop CPUs.
