Intel Develop Thumb-Sized PC

Intel plan to release a PC the size of a USB drive in 2015. The move was announced at Intel’s investor conference in Santa Clara, California. The device is designed to be plugged into the back of a monitor or TV via HDMI, turning the visual display into a computer “and bring intelligence to that,” according to Kirk Skaugen, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the PC Client Group for Intel.

Skaugen compared Intel’s “compute stick” to other thumb-sized computers on the market, such as Dell’s Wyse Cloud connect, which has no internal drive but can connect to external or cloud storage via WiFi or Bluetooth. Although details about the compute stick’s hardware are scarce, Intel hope to release their tiny PC next year.
