The fact Intel’s Haswell-E platform will succeed the current Ivy Bridge-E X79 platform is well known. After a leak emerging from China we now know exactly when Haswell-E will be arriving. According to sources the new Haswell-E processors and the X99 chipset will both arrive on the same date. That date is Sunday September the 14th. On that date we will see Intel launching their new CPUs which include the Core i7 5960X, Core i7 5930K, and Core i7 5820K. Intel’s board partners will also be launching their X99 motherboards at the same time, these motherboards will have support for DDR4 memory at 2133MHz. The X99 platform will use a revision of the LGA 2011 socket and for those of you who’ve checked our Computex coverage we actually saw a fair number of X99 motherboards being shown off.
