Intel i9-10900K Vs AMD 5900X Showdown

Overview
Let’s not beat around the bush here, AMD wiped the floor against the Intel offerings here. That’s surprising though given AMD we’re still quite a way behind even this time last year; they’re closing the gaps one at a time. Single-core performance is up across the board, and they have more cores than Intel, so it’s just no surprise that AMD came out with more wins.
Performance
In our synthetic tests, AMD scored a 6 – 0 victory. In our online tests, it was 3 – 0 to AMD again, and a further 8 – 0 win in the rendering tests. AMD took 2 more in the memory, but Intel has the lead for latency giving them a point. Intel turned out to be the coolest CPU, but AMD used less power. Overall that left us with 20 points to AMD and 5 points to Intel.
Of course, that leaves gaming. AMD took two points here and Intel too 3. So it’s clear AMD has won the overall battle here. What’s interesting though is just how close AMD were to taking all the points in gaming too. With just a few FPS difference, while a couple of years ago that gap was quite large. Intel’s main stay was “well, our gaming performance is the best” and right now, it’s not the bold claim it used to be.
Final score AMD 22 – Intel 5.
